This battery does stick out past the back of the laptop, but the trade off is well worth it. it will not disappoint you.highly recommended.

buy this the battery for my Sony VGP-BPS8 about 3 months ago (March 29, 2009) and it works just as well as when the computer was originally purchased 2 years ago. It's unfortunate that the battery needs to be replaced within 2 years, especially at such a high price point ($171.99). I guess that comes with the territory. UPDATE (dec 8, 2009): Now just under half year of using this replacement battery it has already died like the original that came with the now three year old VAIO. The price has dropped to $130 but I'm unsure if I'm willing to keep paying so much every year for a battery. Since I travel I may be forced to make another purchase.

second the recommendation of the previous buyer to purchase this battery from proven_choice. The battery shipped fast --5-8 days between purchase and delivery, and the vendor communicated very well with me. As far as the battery, so far so good -- I am getting 4-5 hours of use on a full charge. It is not a genuine Dell battery but as long as it works it's okay with me

as an old saying goes, "facts says louder than words." this new batery has been performing very well in my laptop,although it is not the original. the price is reasonablly asked. i am going to buy another one for my partents.

compared with the last batery,this item is much cheaper.howevere, the price is a little more expensive.

Given the price of this item I may be a bit harsh. It does its job .working well in my laptop.
