How to design computer hardware to be more energy-saving, this is not the user problem to be solved.what Users can do is to set the energy saving option in the computer . there are two parts for the Energy-saving setting require the user to adjust: First, the computer BIOS Setup program settings on the energy saving mode; most important thing is there are many energy saving in the operating system setup and operation.when the Computer system is in the actual implementation, Windows system should take precedence over energy-saving settings in the CMOS settings.

1. BIOS's energy-saving settings in the CMOS, has a large "Power Savings", which you can choose "Maximum Battery Life" and "Maximum Performance" and other options. "Maximum Battery Life" is the default energy-saving mode setting. Laptop power saving mode has several states, such as the Idle Mode Idle mode, Standby Mode standby (wait) mode, Suspend Mode suspension (sleep) mode. These settings on the laptop are able to regulate power consumption, mainly because in the computer into energy-saving state, timely close the system equipments which are not used . If in the waiting state, turn off the monitor and hard drive into the dormant state, in addition to close the display and HDD, the memory can also be saved to the hard drive in the content, the whole computer system basically is in maintenance of closed state, once active or restart the computer, the diplay will accurately return to sleep as before. Phoenix BIOS notebooks are most common. Different energy-saving BIOS settings may be different, you should carefully read the screen prompts.
