My original battery died, and I had to make a decision of buying an expensive hp battery, or just buy a whole new laptop. This battery doesn't fit perfect, but it works right out of the box. I have had it for a week and it hasn't caught on fire, and it does hold a charge for a decent amount of time. It is good for the money, and does the job of letting me extend the life of my laptop until I am ready to buy a new one.

This battery deserves 5 stars for its performance and HP deserves 0 stars for its misleading "Up to 5-8 HRS Battery Life" statement on the front of the package for an average of 2 1/2 stars.
If you need to run your laptop on battery power for long periods of time, this is the only way to go. I consistently get 3 ½ to 4 hours of "real" operation from this battery. After owning many laptops over the years where 1 ½ hours of battery operation was normal, I'm very happy with this battery.

It was delivered very quickly and after replacing my old battery, I now get about 3 to 4 hours of battery life. The only caveat is that it is very bulky, but this has not been a big problem for me because I don't mind having my computer sit on the table at a slight incline. I was initially worried that it would make my laptop unbalanced but it is perfectly stable despite the bulky battery. Definitely a great buy,if you are looking for the battery for laptop. it is reliable worth your money.
