left it charged fully over night for about 6 hours.
It functioned for a full 3 hours before getting down to the 10% recharge level. The usage was heavy 2 hour disk and CD drive work as I was installing web cam software twice as I goofed it up the first time and had to unload the software and load it again. Last hour was email and web usage.
The battery performed better than expected
the only dissatifying iis that it took longer time for shipping.i waited for long to receive.

the older one that i bought last year had a total longer length than this one,, this one came with a 90* degree plug, that i think i like, but dont know yet... over all it works and i am satisfied... if the shipping time cluld be quicker, i would ask no more.

got this adapter for my Acer laptop which needed it's THIRD AC adapter replacement since I got it in 2004. After the first original dell adapter failed I bought Targus ones for $100 that only lasted me a few months.
I haven't had this as long as I've had the Targus adapters, but so far so good. The only thing is that the adapter is a little loose in the inlet
